Sunrise | St. Marks, Florida
Sunrise | St. Marks, Floridabriefly_alexAnother sunrise at St. Marks Lighthouse. Woke up after little sleep. Dragged my friend out of bed, and we both admit it was totally worth it. It always is. If you ever need motivation to shoot or just life in general, wake up for a sunrise.
Sunrise | Bryce Canyon, Utah
Sunrise | Bryce Canyon, UtahAt 9,000 feet I had a lot of trouble sleeping. Even after a long day of hiking in the rain and a relaxing splash in the hot tub, I still couldn't fall asleep. The next morning was the only clear time I had to shoot so after 4 hours of sleep, I threw on some clothes and went out into what had to be 30 degree weather with the wind - in August. The reward was priceless and no matter how tired I am when I wake up to shoot the sunrise, I always leave feeling refreshed. For those of you who have been to Bryce, on the far left is Sunrise Point and the far right is Sunset Point. I really wanted to capture the feeling of the ampitheater and nature didn't dissapoint. The sun only peaked through the clouds for maybe 8 minutes, I'm glad I was ready!

Fall in Florida
Fall in FloridaI took this a couple days ago right before the sun came up over lake Piney Z here in Tallahassee. Had some really cool fog rolling over the lake. A hidden gem that many visitors don't really know exists. If you've ever been, I'm standing right underneath the large bridge they built to walk over the railroad. If you want this view though, you gotta get into the water which is exactly what I did. At first my feet were freezing but once I couldn't feel them anymore it didn't really matter! Next time I plan to be more equipped for the water.
Florida's Iconic Canopy Road
Florida's Iconic Canopy RoadI really wanted to capture the feeling of our canopy roads here in Tallahassee. This was taken during sunrise. Anyone that has driven down one of our numerous covered roads during sunrise or sunset knows how unexplainable that feeling is. I hope this photo gives just a small amount of that feeling to anyone who sees it
A Foggy Day in Bryce Canyon, Utah
A Foggy Day in Bryce Canyon, UtahSometimes the weather isn't perfect and there isn't anything you can do but embrace it. We hiked all day in the cold rain and I absolutely loved it. While the sights weren't as majestic and you couldn't see for 100 miles in a certain direction, they were still beautiful. While this overcast lighting isn't as dramatic, it certainly creates an effect like nothing else. Bringing life to colors you wouldn't get with normal sun. I enjoy how simple this is and yet how true to life the memories it brings. It's nice to get out of your comfort zone with what you're normally trying to shoot for.
Storm Tree | Bryce Canyon, Utah
Storm Tree | Bryce Canyon, UtahThe world in all of its beauty should never be seen in black and white. Our emotions, decisions, perception, and ideas should always be more than two possibilities. Over the last couple days, I've been encouraged to better myself. To constantly look inward to improve. This photo isn't just black and white. It's filled with over a thousand shades of gray. A reminder to myself that nothing is absolute. Not even when you remove the millions of colors from a picture does it become simple. Life provides us with countless experiences that all effect what we know. So open your mind up and realize that nothing is black and white.
Tree of Life | Tallahassee, Florida
Tree of Life | Tallahassee, FloridaA gorgeous sunrise yesterday here in Tallahassee. This photo is very simple. I've come to enjoy contrasting colors and being able to find them so naturally is a treat. Not much was done to this photo believe it or not. I did get eaten alive by mosquitos before the sun decided to show but it was totally worth it
